A few months ago, we brewed and released a beer named “Casual Experimentation” – an Imperial DDH New England Style IPA. This beer was a fun deviation from our normal brew schedule, and marked the start of a new era for us here at 2nd Shift Brewing. Finally having enough tanks & barrels to maintain our core beers, we were able to start experimenting more in our brews, and with ingredients as well as styles.
This week we would like to introduce you to the next two beers in what is going to become the “Casual Experimentation Series” – a series of fun beer styles that we’ve always wanted to do and experiment with.
Casual Experimentation Batch #2 is an Imperial Milk Stout – a bigger sibling beer, so to say, of our Cat Spit Oatmeal Milk Stout. With one half of this batch going into Heaven Hill Barrels for a future release date, the non barrel aged version will be available to go in 12 oz/4 pks ($13+tax) in the tasting room tomorrow 10/23, as well as on draft. This batch will be a tasting room only release, with only 40 cases packaged.
Casual Experimentation Batch #3 is a New England Style Pale Ale – brewed with Denali & Amarillo Hops, wheat, oats & lactose. 12 oz/4pks ($12+tax) will be available togo this Thursday 10/25, with only 35 cases of this batch available. Draft will be available togo as well.
Tomorrow also marks a bittersweet goodbye of sorts for us. Available togo and on draft, for the last time, will be Brewcocky Imperial IPA. While this beer has been a regular of ours from the beginning, it is time to retire it, and evolve that beer. Available until sold out
Until you verify you're old enough.
